Crazy Daisy Doggie

Daisy is my "field breed" English Springer spaniel. She was born a hunter. Daisy is from a English Springer Spaniel and Labrador breeder in Thompson Iowa. She was born the last day of August
in 2009 . I had her trained at 2 years of age by Kevin Latour @ Elk River Kennels. The first and most important thing is introduction to guns, (nothing worse than a gun shy hunting dog), then bird training and improved obedience. She is a very good dog, stays within range and comes to my commands. And yes, hunts and retrieves pheasants great. A couple months a year we try to get out and hunt pheasants, the other months of the year she is a wonderful spoiled doggie :-)

Slimey Crud Run, Oct 2, 2011

My buddy Doug called me and invited me to meet him and his wife Lisa at Tomah WI, Oct 2. They were there at the Cranberry fall BMW motorcycle rally.I rode down after I was done with my Saturdays schedule of haircut, on the road at 4:30. I arrived just as the sun dripped into the west and the temps dropped to 48*. I sat in at the BMW rally dinner, listened to their BMW membership drop in the past few years. They blamed the drop due to the economy, etc.. The next day we had frost on our motorcycles that were parked outside. Chilly yes, but it warmed to 75* by noon.
We rode to Leland WI to see the end of the "Slimey Crud" cafe racer run. ( A club composed of ol' cafe style , chopped, british bikes, some with sidecars) their motto is "Ride Hard, Ride Short" wow, what a turn-out! Thousand bikes came into the 2 block long town by the time we left at 1:30.
We rode up to Dougs house in Ironwood Mi, 5 hours north. The temps were heavenly and the fall colors were superb! The next day I rode home through Wisconsin, what a beautiful day!!! Taylors Falls, down to Stillwater then finally home. Best fall riding weekend ever!

Door County,

We went to Door County WI, SEPT 23-26 2011, the weather was horrid, drizzle most of the time.
The girls did a lot of shopping....
We rented some bikes and got out for a 10 mile bike ride on the Peninsula State Park.
As you can see, we did have fun @ Stones Throw Winery. We shared a bottle, it was so good i joined the bi-monthly wine club!

Colorado trip, Labor day week

I went on a great week long motorcycle trip Sept 4, 2011 with a friend Randy to Colorado.
We trailered our bikes the first 700 boring miles to his moms house in Ogallala Nebraska.
That night we met up with Randy's sailboat buddy's at Lake McConaughy, for a fun beach party.
Monday we rode to Colorado Springs, then up the Pikes Peak 14110 summit, wow no oxygen!
Then we rode for the week all over the southern half of the state, all over the best cycle roads we could find. Between Durango and Ouray on the "Million Dollar Hiway", a large mule deer jumped on the the road in front of me while I was going 60mph, whooo, my ABS brakes did their job, I slowed down fast and as I got near, it jumped off the road. At the end of our trip, we rode 1,600 miles of Colorado's best roads, had a great time with memory's for the rest of my life.

Ducati "Pikes Peak" Multistrada

Oh boy, here I go.... I went from thinking, I should check out this new Ducati model, to seeing it in their new special edition paint scheme and changing my mind into, I have to order up one now!
I waiting months and months, finally picked it up July 8th.
here it is at Motoprimo..

My trip to Costa Rica, 2011

Wow, weather is so perfect! that's the thing that you think of first. I never saw a temperature sign anywhere the whole time we were there, unlike Minnesota where you see one every mile.
The native people, they call themselves Tico's and Tica's, were very friendly and so nice.
My wife Laura and I first spent the first night in the capital, San Jose.
The next morning we headed to the Volcano Arenal. We went just 100 miles, but the road are so bad, it took 4 hours to get there....
We stayed three nights at Lost Iguana, it was unbelievability beautiful. Situated up against a steep rain-forest,we were facing the Arenal volcano 2 miles away. Check out the their website, I totally recommend you going there.

Then off to "mountain in the clouds" Monte Verde for 2 days of walking around in a higher altitude bird watching and handing out.
Then another 3-4 hour van ride to the Beach!
Next stop, Hotel Playa Hermosa for the last four days along a beach, the perfect place to relax and unwind before returning to the end of a Minnesota winter.

The nicest places we have ever stayed at.
10 days of vacation bliss, can't wait to get back there again!
